2011 presenter tools do not work with lcd projector

WHen I try to use an LCD projector with PowerPoint 2011, the "Presenter" screen shows up on the big screen, and on my laptop is the PowerPoint presentation. I have tried switching the "windows" in the view section, I have "mirrored" and "UNmirrored" and nothing works. When I open the program up with 2008, it works just fine. So, so far, i am wondering why I bought the new one :-( Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Works here...

Actually there's a button that shows up ON THE SCREEN that reads
"switch displays" and that button needs to be clicked. It only shows
up on one display. so be certain to look at both the computer screen
and the wall screen if you find you are in the same situation as the
one above.
